THE REBBE’S ORKESTRA presents a concert & dance party at Tortuga Gallery ( www.tortugagallery.org ) with dance leader muy especial PENINA BALLEN. 7-7:50pm – A concert of songs in Yiddishe from the swing era, folk songs in Arabic & Ladino from Andalusia, Yiddish drinking songs and wild klezmer tunes. We leave room in the back for dancing during the concert, then we move the chairs to the sides during intermission to get ready for the dance party (8:10-9pm): Bulgars, freylekhs, khosidls, a Yemenite dance & more. $5-20 sliding scale.
