~Vote Women!, Vote Women!
by Caroline LeBlanc
Shout with a triumph,Let’s do a dance,In celebration
For women to vote,
With struggle and hardship, 100 years ago,
The 19th amendment was ratified, So once again,Let’s celebrate the victory.
The Suffragettes are marching again by Eliza Wolff-Francis
Shouting with their signs, their political buttons, their hidden jewels
Equality and Votes for women!
The suffragettes are marching again, almost ballerinas in their dance for choice, they embody their denied humanity.
Front and center agendas
for voice, for family, for schools,
for equality, for the vote.
How many pieces of a woman does an artist need to assemble to prove she is real?
Evidence she is human,
with opinions and beliefs, thoughts and ideas, evidence that she matters.
The suffragettes are marching again, bracing themselves
with injustices of the world, marching to change them for all.
