Acrylic Workshop with Kay Marcotte

Workshop of Painting with Acrylic Paints on Canvas

Watch a demonstration of painting with acrylics, or come paint along. Kay Marcotte will demonstrate her approach to acrylic painting, plus pass on tips and techniques that she has picked up during 45-years of painting and attending studio fine art classes.

If you wish to paint along…. bring supplies:

1). Acrylic paints in primary colors: Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Crimson Red, Titanium White, plus other colors you may wish to use. Paynes Grey, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Hookers Green, and Titan Buff are also useful colors. (Artisans Art Store or Michael’s Craft Store have supplies, including starter kits with small tubes of acrylic primary colors)

2), Inexpensive canvas or panel to paint on. 16” x 20” is a great size for a workshop, but other sizes are fine

3). Acrylic brushes, a couple sizes. Round or flat, sizes 6 or 8 or 10 are all good

4). Container for water for rinsing brushes (such as recycled large yogurt-sized plastic container). Toweling for clean up

5). Paper Palette or a plastic tray to put paint on, and for mixing paint

6). Images for inspiration, photos or magazine clippings. Landscapes or garden scenes are good. People or pet portraits are difficult subjects. I will bring photos also

7). Apron, old clothes

This is a free workshop- donations appreciated!
