Lengthening evenings and cooler temperatures as the Fall harvest winds down have long inspired a turning inwards, with contemplation of our connection to the spirit world and remembrance of those who’ve left us. From this tendency arose celebrations like the Druidic Samhain in ancient Britain and Ireland, All Hallow’s Eve in Christianized Europe, and Día de los Muertos in Mexico and the American Southwest. Tonight’s performance will invoke the haunts of November and evoke the autumnal.
