As the Mural nears completion, there is still time to donate to the GoFund Me to help finalize the mural’s obligations.

Here’s the link to help finish the Bosque Mural

Tortuga’s ‘Bosque Mural’ for Mural Fest 2018 is in partnership with Sierra Club

The mural continues to progress. These images were taken after the first week. We are so impressed with the work of the artists.

If you feel inspired to sponsor an animal, go to Go Fund Me to donate or come to the gallery to choose your animal in person.

Thank you!

Check out the changes on the design for the east side of the building: The mountains really complete the theme. Thanks Denise for making it happen!

Mural Prep is underway!

To be ready for painting on September 22, the building is getting some stucco repair and we hope that the primer will be applied next week September 17-21.

Denise Weaver Ross and Row LiBretto will be at Tortuga Thursday and Friday to prepare the stencils that will be used to apply the mural image to the wall. If you are curious about these processes, come on by.

The Raffle has completed! Thank you to all who supported the raffle by purchasing tickets.

Winners are:

Liza Wolff- winner of  Joel Davis' Sculpture, "Self Portrait".

Fred Houdek is the winner of Denise Weaver Ross' "How to Survive the Space-Time Continuum".

The Go Fund Me campaign will continue until we reach our goal or the mural begins.

Early in 2018, Tortuga learned of Mural Fest 2018

We met JP Eaglin and applied to be one of the sites for a mural that would cover the whole building. This year's theme is "Nature Calls" which is a perfect fit for Tortuga. We love the Santiago Perez mural on a portion of the north wall  and wanted a mural that makes it part of the whole design.

In the mock up of the Bosque mural, it looks as though the characters in Santiago's mural are looking out of Tortuga through a window onto the wonders of the bosque.

Mural Fest 2018  September 22 - October 13

To prepare for the application of the mural, we are starting a fundraiser. Each of the 3 artists who are working on the mural, Denise Weaver Ross, Joel Davis and Roe LiBretto have donated a piece of work to be raffled. Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25.

A Go Fund Me campaign will be launched soon with 15% of the proceeds to benefit  Sierra Club's Bosque Action Team.

A mock up of the mural and the raffle items are on view at Tortuga through the month of July.  To help with this ambitious endeavor, purchase raffle tickets with the link and THANK YOU!
